Email Plans on Events are super useful as they offer you a way of scheduling mailshots relating to the event in a timely fashion e.g. a week before the event, on the day itself and a week after. This enhancement enables you to be far more granular when selecting the email audience, to use a combination of Contact Type and Attendance Status. For example you could select to just email all Attendees who did attend the event, filtering out those who registered but didn't make it. That allows for some very targeted communication.
